What is Massage Therapy?

Massage Therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissue in order to promote a healthier mental and physical state. Massage techniques that are most commonly employed include long strokes, kneading, vibration, friction and percussion. All are geared towards increasing body awareness so that tense and unhealthy areas can be more readily identified and addressed. When used as a tool, Massage Therapy can help individuals increase the quality of their lives by taking a more active role.
